Case Study 5 – European Pharma Client

•          Celtic Catalysts undertook initial 4 week asymmetric hydrogenation catalyst screening project for a drug  in Phase II clinical trials

•          Identified “hit” which gave >98% ee.

•          Subsequently undertook a further project to scale this asymmetric hydrogenation to prove robustness

•          Provided tech transfer back to the company and a CC chemist oversaw the pilot-scale run

•          The route developed by CC (using asymmetric hydrogenation) will be the route used when  the drug is launched in 2011
