Celtic Catalysts has in-depth experience of conducting research and contract synthesis projects for clients and we aim to provide the highest levels of service and competence. We have first class synthesis and analytical facilities at our disposal which enable us to capitalise upon our expertise and provide a broad range of the highest quality services to our clients. Our particular areas of expertise are:

  • Process development & optimisation
  • Enantioselective synthesis
  • Catalyst screening
  • Phosphorus chemistry
  • Organometallics
  • Total synthesis
  • Intermediate characterisation
  • Analytical method development for HPLC and GC (chiral and achiral)

The full reports supplied at the close of each project are always prepared by the lead chemist and include complete, publication/patent-quality characterisation of novel compounds where possible.

Catalyst Screening
In addition to our own in-house ligands and catalysts, we also screen other companies' proprietary and non-proprietary catalysts using parallel multi-well hydrogenation reactors. Scale up of successful conditions can be carried out on 25ml - 8L autoclaves.
Contract Synthesis
Our contract synthesis services can be secured to produce milligram to multi-kilogram quantities of compounds from either known processes or from new processes developed by our team. We relish taking on difficult synthetic challenges and encourage you to seek a quotation for all of your custom synthesis needs.
Analytical Development
Celtic Catalysts has considerable in-house analytical capabilities to support process and method development and to fully characterize your compounds. We have arrays of chromatographic equipment which use multiple modes of detection including photodiode array, refractive index, evaporative light scattering, and mass spectrometry.

Process Development
Our team has many combined years of experience in turning medchem routes into successful plant-scale synthesis, and in optimising existing plant and pilot plant processes. We use high throughput screening equipment to identify optimum conditions and have excellent facilities for the analysis of product purity. These processes can then be scaled up by our production chemists and a fully optimised “tech package” is then transferred back to the customer.
